You can get everything in the Internet - even to buy used woodwinds online. Woodwinds musical instruments include such instruments as flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone and some others. They are called woodwinds because in the Middle Ages when these instruments were manufactured people made them from timber. Nowadays such instruments are not produced this way anymore but the timber is used sometimes as a component equally with other materials. There are two types of woodwinds after the way of blowing: labial & lingual. In labials the air is winded into the particular lateral opening in the head of the musical instrument. Within the tube the stream of air is separated in two portions with the edge. The sound emerges due to the resonance of air flow within the pipe. Together with other musical instruments flute is referred to this kind too. There is a reed in the conformation of lingual woodwinds. The air stream goes through it. Clarinet and saxophone are related to lingual along with some kinds of uncommon instruments. On the head of a lingual woodwind the reed is situated. It creates resonance of the air in the pipe. Reeds can be also of two variants: single and double. A single reed is a slender cane that closes the aperture in the mouthpiece of the instrument and leaves a thin crack. When the artist is breathing the air into the instrument, the reed is vibrating with a high frequency opening and closing the channel inside the pipe. Two cane laminas are compactly connected with each other in double reed. The air steam creates resonance shutting and opening the gap between the canes so the music appears.
